Human Rights Council

The Human Rights Council is the UN body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights around the world and for addressing situations where rights are violated.

Facial recognition, fingerprint and other biometric databases, and spyware sold commercially to governments make it possible to track people in ways that were not possible before. Delegates will weigh security arguments against the rights to privacy, free expression and freedom of assembly, and consider what limits and safeguards should apply.
